Tamper Evident Seal

A Tamper Evident Seal is a security device or mechanism designed to reveal unauthorized access or tampering attempts. These seals are widely used in industries like logistics, pharmaceuticals, food packaging, electronics, and legal documentation to ensure integrity and prevent unauthorized interference.

Types of Tamper Evident Seals:

  1. Adhesive Labels – Fragile or void labels that break or show “VOID” when removed.
  2. Plastic or Metal Seals – Cable ties, bolt seals, or numbered seals that must be cut to open.
  3. Security Tapes – Reinforced tapes that tear upon removal.
  4. Electronic Seals (E-Seals) – RFID or NFC-enabled seals that log access attempts.
  5. Holographic Seals – Visual authentication features that are hard to replicate.
  6. Breakaway Seals – Designed to snap if tampered with (e.g., bottle caps, medicine containers).

Common Applications:

  • Shipping & Logistics: Secure cargo containers, trucks, and packages.
  • Pharmaceuticals: Ensure medication bottles or packages haven’t been opened.
  • Food & Beverage: Prevent contamination or tampering (e.g., bottle caps, food containers).
  • Legal & Financial Documents: Protect sensitive files or evidence bags.
  • Electronics: Warranty void if seal is broken.

Features of a Good Tamper Evident Seal:

✔ Unique Serialization – Trackable numbers or barcodes.
✔ Destructive Design – Irreversible damage upon removal.
✔ Visual Tamper Evidence – Clear signs of interference (e.g., color change, breakage).
✔ High Durability – Resists accidental damage but fails when tampered.
